Individual Exchange Spain January 2025

During my two-week individual exchange in Spain, my favourite day was when my host family and I went on a day trip to Bocairente.

That is a small town near Monóvar. On that day, there was a very famous music parade in Bocairente, which we watched.

Everyone was dressed in traditional clothing, which was very colourful, and people were singing, dancing, and generally looked happy.

After the one-hour parade, we looked for a good restaurant to have lunch at and to chat.

There, I tried squid for the first time. We talked a lot about the differences and similarities between Spain and Germany.

After a satisfying lunch, we decided to walk through the narrow alleys and took a lot of photos. As the sun began to set, we were able to take some breathtaking pictures with and of the sunset.

On the drive back home, everyone was a bit tired, but we talked about our favourite moments of the day and listened to Spanish and also some German music.

The atmosphere was relaxed and joyful, and I felt connected to my host family. It was the perfect ending to a beautiful and unforgettable day.

Carnival in Germany – Individual Mobilities from Spain February-March 25

My most beautiful day was when the two girls from Spain were with us and we were together at the carnival parade in Nidda. It was fun and beautiful to talk to them there and to show them how we celebrate carnival in Germany. Besides, we were all dressed funnily and hot.

Individual exchange to Spain 2025

In the individual exchange to Spain, I went to the beach with the parents of my host student. We drove there about an hour. On the ride, I showed my host father some of the music I listen to and we noticed that we have a similar taste in music. Once we arrived there it was very beautiful because it was a very big town but there were no tall buildings. In this town, there were only small villas with pools and they looked really good. After finally finding a parking spot, we walked along the beach for some time. After some time, we arrived at a little bay where the water was not that deep. There we went into the water and after walking a bit it got really deep. But because the water was very clear, you could see everything around you. I also dove under the water sometimes and saw fish everywhere. One time my host father took an octopus to show me.

After swimming we went to a restaurant and ate lunch there. In the afternoon we drove home again.

The day was really funny and I had a great time with my host parents.

Social Media Project - Group Mobility in Germany May 25

On Wednesday the 7th of May, our school hosted a social media project for the Spanish students and European studies students, who did not have a host. We started the lesson with the Spanish students giving presentations about Spain and its culture. After that, we had the task to get together with a Spanish student and write down pros and cons of social media and what we think about them. After our break we analysed posts about healthy habits. For this task we watched two Instagram reels from two famous content creators and analysed their lifestyle and what their point of view of a healthy lifestyle is and if we agree. Afterwards we had to make our own post including a caption, which had to present what we define as healthy and present it to the class. I liked this project because the students without exchange students could have a chance to meet the Spanish students and also the other way around.

A guided tour in Marburg – Group Mobility in Germany May 25

At 11 am we left Schotten with the Spanish students and their hosts to Marburg. We were on the road for 1.5 hours. When we arrived at 12.15pm in Marburg, we went to the market square by the old town house. From there we had a guided tour through the city. We visited many places that had something to do with the Brothers Grimm and their fairy tales. At the end of the tour, we went up to the old castle of Marburg and took some photos with the Spanish students. We were all very tired because of all the stairs that Marburg has. After we were finished with the tour, we had free time from 14.30 pm till 15.30pm.

Beach Day - Group Mobility Spain 2025

On Thursday the 27th May, we went to school like always. In the first lesson we listened to a presentation about technology and AI in our daily lives. It was really interesting. Later we made a poster about our carbon footprint in Canva and did some technology workshops. After the second break we had sports. We played a traditional Spanish game which is similar to playing tag. We also played volleyball and soccer with the Spanish and Italian students.

When school was over, we all went home to eat dinner and change into our swimsuits. In the early afternoon we drove to one of Alicante’s beaches. The weather was really nice and warm, the sea was kind of cold but almost everyone went swimming though. After swimming we decided to snack on the food our hosts gave us. We also went to a nearby convenient store to buy some snacks. When we got to the beach again, we decided to play beach volleyball in the sunset. Even the father of a student joined us and motivated us to break the world record in volleyball. It was a lot of fun and exciting. We played about half an hour before driving home to our hosts’ houses.
